Battle over YouTube views

On YouTube you will find many different types of videos. Of course music videos are especially popular. However there is a dispute that the record labels feels they are infringing the copyrights of the artists. The battle is set to come to a head in Europe later this year. The industry believes YouTube unfairly takes advantage of “safe harbour laws, which protect it from liability for the massive amount of copyrighted material illegally uploaded by its users, so long as it is removed on request. Do you want to know more? By the 20 September 2012 “Gangnam Style” had become the most popular video on YouTube. Since then, no clip could beat the number of Likes. Reasons for the most YouTube views

What are the reasons that this bland pop music apparently meets the taste of the masses and receives the most YouTube views? There’s real neuroscience behind the strategy of getting you to like shallow pop music: If you hear something enough, you’ll start to like it. Take a look at the article How The Music Industry Is Brainwashing You to Like Bad Pop Songs. The current leader Wiz Khalifa touches us with his tribute to Paul Walker. Emotions are stirred and heartstrings pulled. And this also applies to the other videos in the Top 10: They fit into the mainstream phenomenon and therefore suit current music tastes: We do entertain ourselves with shallow music without having to take it too seriously.
